THEME

Connections

We connect with people, ideas, technology, and opportunities that enrich our lives and work every day. However, these connections are not automatic or random; they require us to be intentional, curious, and open. We need to actively seek out and engage with others who have different perspectives and backgrounds and learn from their insights and feedback. That is what the Roundtable is all about.

BREAKOUT 1 – PARTICIPANT STRATEGIES FOR DETERMINED PLAN SPONSORS

Participant Strategy and User Experience Track

Many plan sponsors are determined to make a difference in the lives of their employees and participants.  These plan sponsors embrace innovation, deploy resources and communication strategies designed to maximize employee engagement.  This session will discuss adoption of product enhancements enabled by SECURE 2.0 and others in this segment.

        • Emergency savings and emergency withdrawals
        • Personal debt mitigation
        • Student loan repayment education, counseling, and matching programs
        • Health Savings
        • Personal financial wellness coaching
        • Lifetime income
        • Managed Accounts

Moderator: Mary Kay Leydon, EACH Enterprise

Format: Peer discussion

Location: Sheraton Madison Hotel, Lower Yahara Room

BREAKOUT 2 – HURDLES OF POOLED PLAN SERVICE TODAY AND FUTURE PROSPECTS

Pooled Arrangement Service Track

At this session, leaders of pooled plan service teams will discuss hurdles they are facing in recordkeeping pooled plans today.  The steep and abrupt growth of pooled plans requires structure, systems, and staff to shadow-recordkeep a wide range of stable value products, each associated with a given market-value adjustment and unique liquidity features. Preferred practices regarding automatic enrollment in pooled plans need promotion.  Automatic enrollment comes with complications in pooled plans: flexibility of automatic enrollment features by adopter, uncertain status of pre-SECURE 2.0 plans that have not yet adopted automatic enrollment when they join a pooled arrangement.  Service team leaders will also discuss their shared vision of the Pooled Plan Provider universe three-to-five years from now.

Moderator: Eric Henon, EACH Enterprise

Format: Peer discussion

Location: Sheraton Madison Hotel, Starkweather Creek Room

 9:45 a.m. BREAK
10:00 a.m. BREAKOUT SESSIONS

BREAKOUT 3 – LOW-COST / HIGH IMPACT PARTICIPANT STRATEGIES

Participant Strategy and User Experience track

There is only so much to go around.  Many firms have adopted tiered service models for plan sponsors based on the resources they are able and willing to dedicate to participant engagement.  For cost conscious plan sponsors, the service model involves delivering the highest impact strategies at the lowest marginal cost.  Leveraging automation and technology, recordkeeping service providers enable high-impact communications delivered to participants just-in-time, exactly when they need it most.

Format: Peer discussion

Moderator: Mary Kay Leydon, EACH Enterprise

Location: Sheraton Madison Hotel, Lower Yahara Room

BREAKOUT 4 – THE BUSINESS OF SHARING AND COMMON GROUND*

Pooled Arrangement Service Track

Many advisors are submitting RFPs for pooled arrangements without defining first how a PEP plan will fit in their business. Advisors will eventually need to perform due diligence on the solutions available to select the one or ones that best fit their business model. Before selecting a provider, advisors need to establish a business strategy for their practice: what clients and prospects make good candidates for a Pooled Plan solution, and which are best served with a single employer plan?  What are the required qualifications of a plan administrator?  Who will serve as 3(16) fiduciary?  Who will serve as a 3(38) fiduciary? What additional value and benefits will a single employer reap from joining a pooled plan? This session will discuss The Business of Sharing and Common Ground, an EACH Enterprise 2025 initiative to help advisors formulate a strategy to successfully implement pooled solutions and to select or create the right solution to meet client needs and enhance outcomes.
